Why Choose IFG?
Our initiative to start this organization was inspired by updated data from literatures showing continuous increase of unintended teen pregnancies where some ends into unsafe abortions, Sexually Transmitted Diseases including HIV and related mental health problems in Rwandan youth generations. As healthcare professionals, we thought of contributing to fight against all these problems by transforming Rwandan youth informed decision makers about their sexual reproductive health and rights , HIV/AIDS and mental health and promotion of youths who already affected to save our future generations, the people of today and tomorrow for the sustainable development of our country. Our organization endeavors to contribute towards Rwanda’s sustainable development, through achieving its goal of the “The Rwanda we want” of vision 2050, as it is stated in the first pillar of human development specifically on universal access to high quality health care.

Informed Future Generations is a registered youth friendly organization led by junior healthcare professionals with a mission of transforming youth into informed decision-makers about their sexual reproductive health and rights, HIV and AIDS, and mental health to save future generations from unintended teenage pregnancy, HIV/AIDS, sexual and gender based violence, substance abuse and mental health problems.

Get Tested, Stay Healthy
This is an ongoing program that focuses on HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention among youth to address misinformation and stigma that hinder testing and treatment. It offers youth-friendly services such as HIV testing, circumcision, education on safe sex practices, access to PrEP, and promotion of the "Undetectable Equals Untransmittable (U=U)" message. By combating stigma and misinformation, the program fosters a supportive environment for individuals living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
Digital Engagements
Recognizing the influence of the digital era, we connect with young people where they are most active—online. Through social media campaigns and radio talks, we disseminate accurate, youth-friendly health information, empowering adolescents and young adults to make informed health decisions. These platforms also guide them to accessible, youth-friendly services, ensuring no young person is left behind in accessing the care they need
Informed Gens
In collaboration with the Rwanda Biomedical Center, this program empowers adolescents and young adults to make informed health choices and drive social behavior change in their communities. Through IFG Clubs and youth-friendly health stations in Rwamagana and Gatsibo districts, the program decentralizes health information and services, making them accessible and tailored to young people's needs.
Teen Mom Success
This program supports teenage mothers in achieving their dreams while promoting healthy outcomes for both mothers and their children. It addresses the challenges of unplanned teenage pregnancies, prevents stunting in children born to teen moms, and provides resources for education, career development, and fruitful parenthood, creating successful stories of resilience and growth.
Like Your Sister
Fostering a culture of respect and care, this program encourages everyone to treat girls and women as they would their sisters. It challenges harmful cultural and social norms that perpetuate teenage pregnancies, gender-based violence, inequality, and mental health challenges. The program promotes gender equality, children's rights, girl-child education, and the development of village women, advocating for a safer and more inclusive society.
No One is Immune
This mental health program empowers children and young adults to become informed decision-makers about their mental well-being. It emphasizes the importance of recognizing early signs of mental health challenges, building coping skills, and normalizing mental health discussions. By advocating for stigma-free environments, the program ensures no one feels left behind, as no one who is born immune health challenges, it affects everyone equally.

Conducted Get tested
In collaboration with REAP and Musha Health center,We have conducted Get tested Stay healthy at Rwamagana district , Musha sector by HIV /AIDS awareness and free HIV testing to key populations at risk of getting HIV which aims to remove misconceptions around HIV which leads to fear to take HIV test to take next step to stay healthy due to stigma and discrimination to people living with HIV and results into continuous transmission in young adults.

In a commendable effort, we recently organized a highly successful cervical cancer awareness campaign in Ngoma District, specifically at Apapece Les Gazelles Primary School. The central mission of this endeavor was to enlighten our community about the insidious nature of cervical cancer and underscore the critical significance of both vaccination and regular screenings as indispensable tools in protecting the health of future generations.

Get Tested, Stay Healthy
In collaboration with REAP and Musha Health Center, our "Get Tested, Stay Healthy" initiative has taken root in Rwamagana district's Musha sector. This program is a crucial response to the pressing issue of HIV/AIDS awareness and offers free HIV testing to key populations at high risk of infection. Our main goal is to dispel misconceptions that surround HIV, breaking down the barriers of fear and stigma that often deter individuals from getting tested and taking proactive steps to maintain their health. By providing accessible testing and comprehensive awareness campaigns, we aim to empower individuals to confront their fears, challenge stigma, and understand the significance of knowing their HIV status. This initiative not only prioritizes individual well-being but also seeks to create a more informed and compassionate community, reducing overall HIV transmission. With the dedicated efforts of REAP, Musha Health Center, and our partners, we are paving the way for a future where HIV is no longer a source of fear or discrimination, fostering a community where everyone feels empowered to get tested, stay healthy, and play a crucial role in curbing HIV transmission.

"Informed Future Generations" joined the world in celebrating the International Day of Peace at the Rwanda Parliament, where the theme, "Strengthening Unity and Resilience for Sustainable Peace and Development," took center stage. This event brought together diverse individuals, organizations, and leaders to emphasize the universal longing for peace and unity, transcending borders. The celebration underscored the vital role of unity and resilience in achieving lasting peace and sustainable development. Unity is the foundation of peaceful societies, and resilience empowers communities to overcome challenges and conflicts, emerging stronger. By fortifying unity and nurturing resilience, we can create a future where peace and prosperity thrive. The Rwanda Parliament event served as a powerful reminder of humanity's ability to transcend adversity, inspiring us all to work towards a world where peace and development coexist harmoniously.

In line with our mission, we've signed a memorandum of understanding with Shine Rwanda, focusing on mental health and sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR) collaborations. We believe that informed decision-makers regarding SRHR and mental health can prevent and swiftly resolve family conflicts. This partnership represents a pivotal step towards creating a healthier community, leveraging our collective expertise to promote knowledge and equitable access to essential services. Together, we aim to positively impact countless lives, paving the way for stronger, more resilient families and communities. Our vision is one of informed, empowered individuals navigating SRHR and mental health with confidence.
National HIV Testing Day Celebration
HIV Awareness Education: Conducted sessions stressing the benefits of knowing one's HIV status, the importance of regular testing, and where to find free and confidential HIV testing services. HIV Testing Campaign Used 400 self-test kits, assisting 48 participants in using the tests. One positive case was identified a 25-year-old pregnant female, who was counseled and referred for further care from those assisted in private tente. She has since been enrolled in antenatal and HIV care at Musha Health Center.
