About US

Informed Future Generations is a nonprofit nurses led organization whose mission is to transform youth into informed decision makers about sexual reproductive health and rights, HIV and AIDS and mental health.
It was founded by student nurses at University of Rwanda, Rwamagana campus in 2022.

Background

Our initiative to start this organization was inspired by updated data from literatures showing continuous increase of unintended teen pregnancies where some ends into unsafe abortions, Sexually Transmitted Diseases including HIV and related mental health problems in Rwandan youth generations. As healthcare professionals, we thought of contributing to fight against all these problems by transforming Rwandan youth informed decision makers about their sexual reproductive health and rights , HIV/AIDS and mental health and promotion of youths who already affected to save our future generations, the people of today and tomorrow for the sustainable development of our country. Our organization endeavors to contribute towards Rwanda’s sustainable development, through achieving its goal of the “The Rwanda we want” of vision 2050, as it is stated in the first pillar of human development specifically on universal access to high quality health care.

Nurturing Rwandan youth generations with information to prevent them from sexual, reproductive health, and related mental health problems.

Our Scope

Equipping Rwandan youth generations aged between 13-35 years, with sexual and reproductive health information, and related mental health problems.

Our Objectives

Transforming Rwandan youth into informed decision makers about their sexual, reproductive and mental health.
Provision of advocacy for teen mothers, orphan vulnerable children and youth with sexual, reproductive and mental health problems.

Our Goals

Promoting sexual, reproductive and mental health in youth generations.
Prevention of unintended teen pregnancies and unsafe abortions in youth generations.
Prevention of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.
Promoting teen mothers’ health.
Promoting youth living with HIV and mental health problems.
